The Art of Expressing Ourselves Honestly: Bruce Lee Lost Interview

I think Bruce Lee was a real artist and I don't say this just because he was an actor but also because of his approach to martial arts and life in general.

When I was a kid I only knew him through a few of his films but after watching this famous "Bruce Lee 1971 Lost Interview" I realized that he had a lot more to offer, he was a real philosopher.

He constantly asked himself "how can I express myself totally, completely and honestly, without lying to myself." And that was what Bruce Lee was trying to teach his students and his audience, the art of expressing ourselves honestly using martial arts and his films as means of expression.

I like his attitude, he might look a bit arrogant to some people, but I think that's just because he had a lot of confidence in himself, he truly believes in himself and in the human potential. It is a real pity that he left us so early in life.

"Empty your mind,
be formless, shapeless like water.
Now you put water into a cup it becomes the cup,
you put water into a bottle it becomes the bottle,
you put it in a tea pot it becomes the tea pot.
Now water can flow or it can crash.
Be water my friend"

Bruce Lee
